Handmade Sketchbook with Custom Stamp

My first project for my Beginning Crafts class was to design and create a sketchbook that would contain preparatory sketches for all of my projects for the semester.

Both covers are wrapped in decorative handmade paper. Sheets of Bristol board are cut and sewn in-between the covers using a traditional book-binding method.

I also created a design for a foam stamp to incorporate with the cover's design. Since I was reminded of pirates and buried treasure by the gold-colored paper's natural fibers, I designed an icon with an "X marks the spot" type of feel:

I bound the book together with hand stitching.
