Metal Casting: Square Sterling Silver Pumpkin Ring

I was assigned to create a ring for my Jewelry class using the traditional lost wax casting method.

I wanted to create a square ring so it did not spin on my finger as I wore it. When contemplating which image or design to include on its top face, I decided that a fat pumpkin would fit nicely.

The ring is just slightly too big since I had quite a bit of sanding during the finishing process (which I had forgotten while fitting the ring during the was sculpting process). It's not suitable for everyday wear for me since I could lose it, but I'll bring it out on special occasions.
